Book Fair and Writer's Conference Using Photos to Tell a Story
In Celebration of Books (ICB) at Gunston Day School, grades 9-12, in
the Library
on the banks of the Corsica River (about 25 miles south of Chestertown
and
Washington College) on Maryland's Eastern Shore. ICB is set up like a
one-day writers conference with 12 writers each teaching two 50-minute
seminars to groups of 10 or so students each from grades 9-12.
Classes start at 8:30. A buffet lunch for visiting writers at the
headmasterís house at the edge of campus on the Corsica River at about
noon. The book fair takes place in the library all day (bring your
memoir to sell by all means) and writers each have a period off during
which they can sign books, attend another seminar, or visit with
whoever has a free period.

Annual Pigtown Festival, 800 block of Historic McHenry Street,

the Bush will be held down the street from the Pigtown Festival at Ras Doobie

center on American and African relations: myths and realities.
