Are you interested in meeting me "up-close and personal."  There may be a local book signing or radio interview in your area, if so you can find it listed below.  Some events may be by invitation only, whereas others are open to the public.  If the event is open, seating is available on a first come basis.

November 18, 2005: A talk and book signing for the public is offered by MENSA at 8pm, the Stillmeadow Church, 5110 Frederick Road, Irvington, Maryland.

October 28, 2005: A Book Fair and Writer's Conference Using Photos to Tell a Story
In Celebration of Books (ICB) at Gunston Day School, grades 9-12, in the Library 
on the banks of the Corsica River (about 25 miles south of Chestertown and 
Washington College) on Maryland's Eastern Shore. ICB is set up like a one-day writers conference with 12 writers each teaching two 50-minute seminars to groups of 10 or so students each from grades 9-12.  Classes start at 8:30. A buffet lunch for visiting writers at the headmasterís house at the edge of campus on the Corsica River at about noon. The book fair takes place in the library all day (bring your memoir to sell by all means) and writers each have a period off during which they can sign books, attend another seminar, or visit with whoever has a free period
.

September 10, 2005: From 11:00am till 3:00 come meet Johnny at the Fourth Annual Pigtown Festival, 800 block of Historic McHenry Street, Pigtown's last remaining cobblestone street, Baltimore, MD 21230. For additional information, call 410 385-8494. 
From 3:30 until 5:00pm, a book signing and discussion of Brother In the Bush will be held down the street from the Pigtown Festival at Ras Doobie (Carolyn's Cafe), 213 Penn Street, Baltimore, MD 21230, (410) 752-3896. Authentic Jamaican cuisine will be served. Discussions will center on American and African relations: myths and realities.
September 23-25, 2005: Book signings from 5-9pm on Friday and from 11-7 on Saturday and Sunday at the Baltimore Book Fair at Mount Vernon Place, 600 Block North Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland. Come out and meet the John Slaughter at the CityLit Stage.
